7.1 Novice

• The purpose of this class is to give the beginning racer track experience under racing conditions.

• No points or other rewards are given

• All types of racing motorcycles are allow provided they conform to the rules in Chapter 5

• Formula 3, Formula 2, 650cc twins and vintage bikes are allowed to run their respective classes instead of the novice class.

 

7.2 Formula 118, and Formula Classic

• These Sportsman classes are not for competition. It is for track time only and there are no year end points trophies or other awards.

• Riders must possess a racing license and all motorcycles must comply with normal equipment regulations in this rulebook.

• In the event the sportsman class is run as a wave with other competition classes, sportsman riders must not interfere with the other classes in any way.

• Riders who are riding too fast or aggressively in the sportsman class will no longer be allowed to enter sportsman, lap times faster than1:18 are not permitted for Formula 118, and no lap timers are allowed!. Riders in other classes may be directed to ride in the sportsman class only by the referee, as a result of skill level concerns.

Formula Classic follows this:

    • open to novice, intermediate and expert riders
    • P1 - Formula Vintage For machines in production before the model year 1972
    • P2 - Formula 70s For machines in production in the model years 1973-1979
    • P3 - Formula 80s For machines in production in the model years 1980-1989
    • P4 - Formula Modern For machines in production in the model years 1990-current
    •     Restrictions:
    •  maximum of 550cc multi cylinder four stroke
    •  maximum of 125cc multi cylinder two stroke machines

    7.3 600 Supersport & Classic Supersport

    • Expert and Intermediate trophy class

    • national horsepower limits apply

    • up to 500cc multi cylinder, two stroke motorcycles

    • up to 600cc multi cylinder, four stroke motorcycles

    • up to 750cc twin cylinder, four stroke motorcycles.

     

    7.4 Open Supersport

    • Expert and Intermediate trophy class

    • national horsepower limits apply

    • unlimited multi cylinder, four stroke motorcycles.

     

    7.5 Battle of the Twins

    • trophy class

    • formula rules apply

    • Unlimited displacement 4 stroke twins

     

    7.6 Superbike

    • Trophy class

    • two race format

    • any motorcycle up to unlimited displacement, 600cc supersport or better (executive’s choice for other allowable motorcycles)

    • no graduated novices, open to all Expert’s and Intermediates (exceptions can be made by the race director or executives)

     

    7.7 A class must have at least 5 starters at a main event in order to be scored points and to be paid prize money and/or issued trophies.

    Chapter 8 –Supersport Rules

    Supersport class machines must conform to the regulations in Chapters 4 and 5 and also must conform to the following regulations:

    See www.cdnsuperbike.com for current rules. Tires may be replaced with those more suitable for racing, but must be DOT. Slicks and cut slicks or any tire rated as ‘Not For Highway Use’ is not allowed except for rain tires.
